Spectrum Training Systems, Inc.jis happy to announce that we are going into our fifth year of
educating the parents, teachers, therapists and friends of individuals with
Autism Spectrum Disorders
(ASD).  Thus far, we have trained over 6,000 people in the information and interventions available on
ASD, through conferences and workshops.

Autism is a
spectrum disorder, which means it can affect an individual anywhere from slightly to
severely.  Because of the recent broadening diagnostic criteria of autism and greater public awareness,
children have been increasingly diagnosed in the past two decades.  The Center for Disease Control
now reports that 1 in 150 children, and 1 in 94 boys have an autism spectrum disorder.  ASD can exist
among people at every level of measured intelligence.  As teachers, parents, therapists, and public
citizens, we have a personal obligation to learn as much as we can to help our growing children and
adolescents.  Everyone deserves to have a rich and fulfilling future, regardless of disability.

Our speakers are internationally recognized experts, authors and doctors in the field of Autism
Spectrum Disorders.  They specialize in different subject matter regarding ASD including:
Asperger
Syndrome, behavioral and educational strategies, building social skills and relationships, sensory
issues, inclusion, speech and language, transition, usage of medication, ADHD, curricular adaptations,
emergency situations, and even personally living with ASD.
