-Registrations are incomplete without payments or purchase orders.
-Purchase orders and checks are accepted.  
-A registration form must be completed for each attendee listed on a P.O.
-Requisitions are not accepted.

Cancellation Policy:
Cancellations made within two weeks of the conference will receive no reimbursement. Substitutions are allowed.
Cancellations made prior to the two weeks before the conference will be charged a $30 administration fee. No refunds
will be made for those cancelling during the two weeks before the conference.
No exceptions. Cancellations will be
accepted only in writing.

Meals:
No food will be provided. Lunch will be on your own.

Books:
We will have an extensive ASD bookstore at the conference. Purchase orders, credit cards, checks and cash are
accepted.

3 Options for Educational Credit:
1. Certificate of Attendance- This certificate is available for no extra charge at the conference.  It outlines the content
and hours of instruction.

2. IACET CEU’s (International Association for Continuing Education and Training) are offered for an additional $25 for
this conference.  Individuals wishing to earn 0.6 (for one day) or 1.2 (for two days) CEUs are advised to check with their
certification body, licensure agency, and/or employer to determine if IACET CEUs can be used to satisfy specific
requirements. Paperwork will be filled out on-site at the conference. For the IACET provider directory,

For ASHA members: Please note that we will not be reporting the CEUs directly to ASHA. However, ASHA does accept
IACET CEUs. When ASHA asks if you have completed all necessary CEUs, please include all IACET CEUs on your
report form. Keep your IACET certificate in case of ASHA audit, as proof of attendance

3. Graduate Credit- Workshop participants may choose to earn graduate credit from Silver Lake College for extending
the knowledge and skills gained in the workshop to an independent and authentic application of theory to practice within
his/her relevant educational and/or professional setting. Some workshops are available for either one (1) OR two (2)
graduate credits; other workshops are available only for one (1) graduate credit. Please refer to the credit registration
form and the syllabi regarding the credit options available.

Top tips and tools for special education collaborative success will be shared, taught and
schools posed by teachers today.  He has been part of many due process procedures
current information for making teaching and recording procedures accountable and effective.
 He will also provide you with family, lawyer, hearing officer and courtroom perspectives for a

-Learn ways of strengthening and promoting effective interpersonal relationships
-Learn and apply active listening procedures

-Share at least five ways to prevent due process

Collaboration, with
Patrick Schwarz, Ph.D.
No More Meltdowns: Handling Challenging Behaviors & Teaching Social Skills,
with
Jed Baker, Ph.D.
Students on the autism spectrum often present with difficulty regulating their feelings and
behavior plans to prevent these moments and reduce frustration and anxiety. The second
part of the presentation details strategies to motivate students to learn, ways to teach social
from peers. Information will be imparted though lecture, interactive exercises, and video clips.

Learning objectives for participants:
-To understand the reasons for social skill deficits and disruptive behaviors.
-To learn strategies to deal effectively with meltdowns and be able to put together an
effective behavior plan to prevent frustrations.
-To understand how to put together a social skills training program in schools or at home.
-To learn ways to motivate verbal and non-verbal students to want to socialize.
-To learn several strategies for teaching and generalizing skills.
-To learn how to create programs for typical peers to accept students with disabilities and
model positive behaviors.
