Cancellation Policy:
Cancellations made within two weeks of the conference will receive no reimbursement. Substitutions are allowed. For
checks and purchase orders, cancellations made prior to the two weeks before the conference will be subject to a $30
administration fee. With online registration, cancellations made prior to the two weeks before the conference will be
charged a $15 administration fee. No refunds will be made for those cancelling during the two weeks before the
conference. No exceptions. Cancellations will be accepted only in writing.

Meals:
Lunch will be on your own. Breakfast and afternoon snack are included in your registration fee.

Books:
We will have an extensive ASD bookstore at the conference. Purchase orders, Visa, MC, checks and cash are accepted.

3 Options for Educational Credit: (Parents not eligible)
1. Certificate of Attendance- This certificate is available for either the 6 hours (one day) or 12 hours (two days) of
training for this conference.  It outlines the content and hours of instruction.

2. IACET CEU’s (International Association for Continuing Education and Training) are offered for this activity.  
Individuals wishing to earn CEUs are advised to check with their certification body, licensure agency, and/or employer to
determine if these CEUs can be used to satisfy specific requirements. The CEU website for these IACET CEU’s is:

3. Graduate Credit- Workshop participants may choose to earn graduate credit from Silver Lake College for extending
the knowledge and skills gained in the workshop to an independent and authentic application of theory to practice within
his/her relevant educational and/or professional setting. Some workshops are available for either one (1) OR two (2)
graduate credits; other workshops are available only for one (1) graduate credit. Please refer to the credit registration
form and the syllabus regarding the credit options available.

Presenters:
James Emmett is a national leader in development of employment services for persons with
autism spectrum disorders as well as in assisting corporations in creation of outreach efforts to
the disability and autism communities. He is an individual with a disability and a parent of three
daughters with disabilities. James currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer of Integrated
Behavioral Systems (www.integratedbehavioralsystems.com) and is a Partner in the consulting
firm Two Steps Forward (www.twostepsforwardinc.com). He graduated with a Master's Degree in
Rehabilitation Counseling from Illinois Institute of Technology. James recently completed 1.5
years working as the Disability Program Manager for Walgreens helping set up the company's
national disability initiative (www.walgreensoutreach.com). He also assisted Easter Seals National
in laying the foundation for their national autism services network.
Christopher Simler is the Chief Executive Officer and Autism Consultant for Integrated
Behavioral Systems, Inc and is an Adjunct Professor at Elmhurst College. Christopher is
classically trained as an Applied Behavioral Scientist specializing in the field of Autism supports,
strategies, and curriculum development. As a Behavioral Scientist, Christopher applies his
knowledge of leadership, program development, communication and instruction as key
components in working with a person on the spectrum. Over the last thirteen years Christopher
has worked with non-profits, school districts, transition programs, national associations and co-
operative special education programs providing trainings, transition consultation and behavioral
support. Christopher has twelve years of management and leadership within the field of social
services. He has designed new teaching methodologies and restructured the environments in
both public and private school’s behavioral and transition programs. Christopher continues to
work with agencies in the Illinois area providing a strong and successful future for people on the
spectrum.

training is relevant to workers across
the spectrum especially inclusive of
workers with very significant barriers.

*We will go across the spectrum from
discussing issues related to job seekers
with Aspergers who have college
degrees, to job seekers with ASD who
have significant behaviors.

What age students might attend this
conference?
*16 and up. However, please note that
the majority of the conference will be in
lecture format.
