Keynote Speaker - Dr. Peter Gerhardt - Transitioning to Adulthood with ASDs
Dr. Peter Gerhardt is the President and the Chairman of the Scientific Council, of the
Organization for Autism Research (OAR).  He received his doctorate from the Rutgers University
Graduate School of Education.  Previous professional positions include serving as the Executive
Director Nassau Suffolk Services for Autism, and an appointment as Research Assistant
Professor at the Rutgers University Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology
where he served as the Director of the Division of Transition and Adult Services at the Douglass
Developmental Disabilities Center.  It was in this capacity that Dr. Gerhardt co-founded the
Douglass Group, a social skills and support service for adults with Asperger's Disorder or High
Functioning Autism.  He currently serves on many professional advisory boards, including the
Autism Society of America, MAAP Services and ASPEN.


Speaker - Dr. John Mishko - Structural, Nutritional & Biomedical Interventions for ASDs
Dr. John Mishko has been in private practice for over 20 years. He graduated from Palmer
Chiropractic College in 1983. Board certifications include Chiropractic Pediatrics, Atlas
Orthogonal Chiropractic Procedures (specialized studies of the cranium and upper cervical
spine and upper cervical injuries), ANVS (atlas neurovascular syndrome), Non-surgical Scoliosis
Evaluation and Treatment. He lectures and teaches classes that include Healing the Brain
(Autism: Strategies for Parents), New Developments for Treatment of Autism, Low Level Laser
Therapy, introductory and advanced courses. Specialized studies include the Klinghardt
Protocol for the Treatment of Autism and Neurodegenerative disorders. His approach to autism
treatment includes structural balancing, heavy metal detoxification, nutritional and biomedical
adjustments. He is currently practicing in Tacoma and Port Orchard, WA.


Speaker - Dr. Glenn Tripp - Sleep Issues in Autism Spectrum Disorders
Dr. Glenn Tripp is the Medical Director of Developmental Services, at the Mary Bridge
Children's Hospital, Tacoma.  Dr. Tripp has had over 30 years of practicing within the area of
pediatrics, with the majority of his practice focusing upon developmental behavioral pediatrics.  
In the span of his career he has seen the prevalence of autism increase from almost negligible
to now well over half of all children in his practice.  Dr. Tripp is a specialist within several areas,
and is often called on to speak upon issues of medication use and sleep concerns for those
within the autism spectrum. Dr. Tripp has participated on the AW Autism Task Force and is
currently a member of the WA State Combating Autism Advisory Council.

Cancellation Policy:
Cancellations made within two weeks of the conference will receive no reimbursement. Cancellations made prior to
the two weeks before the conference will be subject to a $30 administration fee. No refunds will be made for those
cancelling during the two weeks before the conference. No exceptions. Cancellations will be accepted only in writing.


Books:
We will have an extensive ASD bookstore at the conference. Purchase orders, Visa, MC, checks and cash are
accepted.
