Cancellation Policy:
Cancellations made within two weeks of the conference will receive no reimbursement. Substitutions are allowed.
Cancellations made prior to the two weeks before the conference will be charged a $30 administration fee. No refunds will be
writing.

Meals:
There will be no food provided. Lunch will be on your own.

Books:
We will have an extensive ASD bookstore at the conference. Purchase orders, credit cards, checks and cash are accepted.

4 Options for Educational Credit:
1. Certificate of Attendance- This certificate is available for the 12 hours of training for this conference for no extra charge.  It
outlines the content and hours of instruction.

2. 12 Washington clock hours have been approved by the Puget Sound Educational Service District. We will be offering 12
hours (for two day attendance) for $24. Please have checks ready at the conference, made out to: PSESD. No cash will be
accepted.

3. 1.2 CEUs, for the two day attendance, will be available for an additional $25 fee.  IACET (International Association for
Continuing Education and Training) CEUs are offered for this conference.  Individuals wishing to earn CEUs are advised to
check with their certification body, licensure agency, and/or employer to determine if IACET CEUs can be used to satisfy

For ASHA members: Please note that we will not be reporting the CEUs directly to ASHA. However, ASHA does accept IACET
CEUs. When ASHA asks if you have completed all necessary CEUs, please include all IACET CEUs on your report form.

4. Graduate Credit- Workshop participants may choose to earn graduate credit from Silver Lake College for extending the
knowledge and skills gained in the workshop to an independent and authentic application of theory to practice within his/her
relevant educational and/or professional setting. Some workshops are available for either one (1) OR two (2) graduate
credits; other workshops are available only for one (1) graduate credit. Please refer to the credit registration form and the
syllabus regarding the credit options available.

Workshop Description:
schools, transition programs, and community rehabilitation providers are facing the challenge of providing
quality educational and job training services to a rapidly growing number of students with autism spectrum
strengths and interests.  Job seekers with autism spectrum disorders bring diverse talents to the business
world and more companies across the country are recognizing this fact.  With the support of  innovative
career planning, people with autism have the opportunity to reach any goal that they set for themselves.
This two day training covers all the essentials for successful career planning.  Topics such as career find
each day that participants will be able to apply to their current situation immediately.
Workshop Presenter:
James Emmett, M.S., is a national leader in development of employment services for
persons with autism spectrum disorders as well as in assisting corporations in creation of
and a parent of three daughters with disabilities. James currently serves as the Chief
Operating Officer of Integrated Behavioral Systems and is a Partner in the consulting firm
Two Steps Forward. He graduated with a Master's Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from
Illinois Institute of Technology. James recently completed 1.5 years working as the Disability
Program Manager for Walgreens helping set up the company's national disability initiative.
He also assisted Easter Seals National in laying the foundation for their national autism
services network.
